Lindsay Ellman-Brown


Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, Lindsay started dancing at the age of 4. Her interest in teaching began as a senior student with the Pat Stirling Academy of Dance where she assisted with junior classes. Lindsay danced with the National Ballet of Zimbabwe before moving to London in 1985 to train as a teacher. She attended the College of the Royal Academy of Dance in London and attained her Diploma and Licentiate in the Teaching of Classical Ballet before returning home to Zimbabwe to open her own RAD ballet school.

In 1999 Lindsay auditioned successfully to train as a Royal Academy of Dance Graded Examiner and now travels regionally and internationally for the Academy.

In 2003, Lindsay moved to Australia to join the faculty at Ecole Ballet and Dance Theatre in Sydney and was appointed as Head Teacher of the Junior School.

In 2008 she successfully completed her Masters Degree in Creative Industries (Dance Teaching) with the Queensland University of Technology and now teaches for several schools in the Sydney area, including Kuringai School of Dance.
